I just purchased a 2014 Ram 2500 Cummins SLT. I got it home and now my service abs and traction control lights are on the dash as well as exterior brake lights are stuck on. Anyone else have this issue? My scanner is telling me no codes stored. Granted my scanner is not a top of line scanner.

You need a scanner that can retrieve ABS codes. Most of the cheaper ones can’t.

Since the brake lights are on I would be inclined to think it’s an issue with the brake switch. I would still recommend getting the codes retrieved first.

As tac_tech said an ABS scanner would help but you might want to check your brake light switch. If it's out of adjustment or defective it can cause these exact same symptoms. The service ABS goes off because the truck is recieving the signal that your pressing the brakes but the brakes aren't being applied. This happened to me when I installed memory adjustable pedals and the brake light switch wasn't adjusted correctly. My brake lights were on constantly and I had service ABS/Traction Control messages. Adjusted the switch and everything was fine. If your switch is adjusted correctly and the brake lights are still on you may need to replace the switch.

So did a little more research....i am now getting the abs light, brake light, traction control light, and traction control off light on the dash. The center display says, service anti-lock brake system, service trailer brake system, service electronic throttle control, service electronic braking system. My scanner is picking up code P040D exhaust gas recirculation temp sensor circuit high, U0121 lost communication with anit-lock brake system control module, U1412 please refer to vehicle service manual $07E8 chrysler. The truck is deleted and tuned.

It's normal for them to flash all those warnings at once when the brake light switch is defective or out of adjustment. Mine flashed service ABS, service traction control, service trailer brake lost communication ect. I didn't have the other codes but I don't think they are all related. Crawl under the dash and make sure the brake light switch is depressed by the brake pedal. There are videos on YouTube explaining how they work. If you press it all the way in the brake lights should go off. If they don't you most likely have a bad switch and it needs to be replaced. Also check to make sure it's adjusted so the brake pedal depresses the plastic tab enough to turn off the brake lights when the brake pedal is not being depressed.

Make sure your scanner is ABS enabled. There are 3 types of them OBD, OBD+ABS and OBD+ABS+SRS

Go to an auto parts store, they will read the abs codes for you.

The EGR codes are probably old codes related to the delete. It could be something as simple as a bad connection at the wheel speed sensors or brake light switch. I would go around and unplug, apply dielectric grease and plug back in before spending any money.
