ABS Module replacement

So after replacing the rear abs sensor and both speed sensors, the trouble codes remain. I finally took it to the shop where they confirmed my suspicion that the abs module was bad.

I’ve read that this is pretty much a dealer specific item, and that it needs to be flashed to my vehicle?

However, I just stumbled across ( think it was a charger forum) where someone posted success with a used module without being reflashed as long as the part number was the same as the original. Any truth to this?

Not sure why this was moved to the exterior forum??

I contacted the dealership and the actual module is discontinued and they seem to be unsure if they can reflash a used one
