Help I am having ac trouble and have been since I bought this truck 07 Ram 5.7. I have changed the compressor dryer orifice tube condenser and evaporator within the past 3 years. Fully vacuumed and charged as of today clutch turns on but blows around 70 degrees. Any ideas?

How long did you vacuum it? what are the high and low side pressures? What type and how much oil is in the system? And what is the ambient temperature? At what RPM did you run the test? What is/was the final charge in grams/ounces? Ditto for overall oil in the system. Does it match specs dead-on? The specs should be on an underhood sticker. If the sticker has gone missing, a service manual MUST be consulted.

It is difficult to help you with sorely lacking data. The procedures are non-negotiable and very particular.

Lastly, take the temperature of the suction hose fitting at the compressor AND the firewall ON THE METAL, using a contact thermometer, NOT an infrared one. The 2 MUST be within 10 degrees of each other. Is That hose/fittings ice cold? They certainly should be on both ends.

If you are not using a manifold set of gauges you are wasting your time.

At least 30 minutes on the vacuum. 55 psi low side, 225 psi high side. 6 oz I forget what oil. It’s about 90 degrees when I was reading pressures ran it at idle so maybe 600 rpm. I do not know the exact ounces as 2 of my cans were about less than half full but I believe somewhere around 3 cans.

Low side too high and high side too low. 30 minutes is barely enough given you have humidity like we do here in Houston. I go 45 minutes at a bare minimum. Also, the temp should be read at 1500 RPM and the thermometer in the center duct. Blower on 3 and doors shut. On that year vehicle, I run PAG46 across the board and have done so for 20 years on hundreds of vehicles. I wonder, do you KNOW what specs are for that truck? Is it a crew cab? My info system calls for 1.6 pounds. That isn't a suggestion, it is a SPECIFIC requirement. ANY deviation will result in poor performance. PAG 46 oil is OK for your truck... TOTAL of 6 ounces for the system. Again, critical that it be correct.
