My ‘95 Cummins B175 5.9 liter 12 valve engine is randomly and intermittently pushing the throttle to the floor all by itself. Has anyone had a similar problem and learned what is wrong?

It can't pull the pedal down. First thing is check your floor mats to see if it could be getting a little hung up periodically.

If it is accelerating on its own and the pedal is not moving, then you have an issue with runaway, maybe turbo is leaking oil and feeding.

If the pedal is actually moving, check the bracket on the injection pump it might be falling off and pulling the pedal and moving the throttle valve on the pump.

Both not safe at all.

The throttle position sensor on my truck caused that to happen to me. Nearly killed me a few times...
