Ever since I got my truck I've been a bit disappointed in its throttle response. Off the line the thing had no get up and go and even in highway passing situations the power didn't come on like I would have wanted. Don't get me wrong, the truck has plenty of power but it's just slow to respond.

Having read a lot of the reviews I purchased a BD Diesel Accelerator Sensitivity Module (#1057712 fit my 2015 6.7). Installation was dead-simple. The unit's wiring harness goes between the existing harness and the throttle pedal. You then open the unit, press The learn button and press your throttle a few times slowly. Then select one of three power settings: Off, 50% and 100%. Put the cover back on, ziptie it up and your done. The instructions say to disco the battery first but I didn't. Maybe that's why I threw a Throttle Low Voltage code at first but it hasn't returned since I cleared it.

After installing it and setting it to 100% all I can say is WOW! This thing makes my truck feel like it's got a 70 or 90 HP tune on it. From a standstill there is still a 1 second delay for the truck to respond (I hate computers) but then the power comes on really fast and strong. With this thing set on 100% I can spin the dually tires on dry pavement without power braking. When merging or passing the power is right there with no hesitation. The truck now feels as responsive as you would expect it to be. Now a lot of people think all the module does is make the system think your pressing the pedal more than you actually are but it's got to be more than that. It feels as though it changes the power curve giving you access to more power at lower speeds/RPMs than you would normally have and carries the power through to highway speeds. Can it do that just from modifying the throttle input? I don't know, I'm just saying what it feels like.

Should I have gotten a tuner? I don't think so. The only thing I was looking to do was give the truck some more get up and go, a little (a lot!) more 'pep' and this thing does just that. Overall I am very pleased. Word of caution to those who tow; when I tow my 5th wheel I have to put the setting to half otherwise I start to get a transmission shudder if I hit the gas too hard. Actually 50% is enough. At 100% I notice my diesel gauge starting to fall a little too quickly.

The BD chip is a great option if you just want the boost on the Cummins especially considering the high cost of diesel tuners compared to gas.

You can get yourself a tuner and it will have a throttle boost function in them that will do the same thing. The BD module and others made for the hemi will costs $250-275 and an InTune will run you $350 and give you so much more, plus you can adjust the scale of the boost. I have mine set to 15%, others have run higher at 20-25%.

Be prepared to replace your back tires. With the diablo they go up in smoke!

The trinity tuner from Diablo is around 600 bux, but the Intune or Intune DCX (depending on your year), is around 350-400. Both are functionally the same and both have the throttle boost feature built in. I have mine set at 20% and am running the Sonnax Line pressure booster on the tranny, which really helped the low end acceleration and shifting speed. next up is a new converter and i have been looking at the ATI 15% pulley to get some more jump.

You can also calibrate your throttle. I've read in numerous forums that this procedure aided in response. That plus your module sounds like an awesome combo. Sorry if it's old news but here is how you do it:

Turn key on but do not start
When all dummy lights go off slowly depress gas pedal to the floor and hold it for three seconds (CEL may flash depending on model)
release then turn key off.

A few have said they notice nothing, but most say there was a noticeable difference.

I think it may seemed to have helped Mother Mopars Throttle delay but in reality it hasn't at least in gas trucks. Throttle boost, recalabration of the pedal, etc doesn't help much at all. As far as I know, not 1 CMR tuner in the country has found a solution. There are work arounds but nothing else. All I know is that around 2011-12 a TSB was issued(TSB 18-021-0) for a drivabilty problem in Challengers, etc. Throttle delay was inherent to the new CALID issued(05187899AG?). Mopar seemed to have changed the algorithm used to determine torque requested by throttle input. It's not done by blade position as in GM, Ford but this algorithym. I think it's great plugging a resistor/ohm type thing inline to get rid of that lagged response but Hypertech has been on the market for awhile like Sonnax. Not everyone has one. Just my opinion.

Believe BD is diesel only. You may want to check out the Sprint Throttle Booster. After doing a quick search in Google it looks like they make one for the 5.7 and it too has gotten good reviews. It's been almost 2 weeks since I installed it and since all I was looking for was more get up and go, it's been a well spent $225. If you're looking for something more it might be best to take the advice of the other well informed members.
