I’m probably wrong in my thinking because I haven’t had my 1500 very long and haven’t figured it all out yet by any means - but I thought the operation of the etorque system was primarily for initial launch from a stop when the motor is restarting, and maybe sudden initial acceleration to disguise kicking out of MDS operation? I thought it’s main purpose was to disguise these transitions. Does it actually kick in for sustained operation during acceleration or just spirited driving?

It doesn't kick in for any sustained time. At it's basics, it's an electric system that keeps the truck alive when the engine is stopped and starts the engine without wear and tear on the engine battery or starter. At the most, it' gives you a 1 second bump in power when taking off and under towing. I genuinely can not tell ANY difference in Etorque vs non Etorque of my old truck.Anyone?
