I’ve been waiting for this for a while. It looks like the AEV Katla wheel is back in a 17X10. Now all I need to decide is, do I wear out my stock tires first, or step up to 35s now. Decisions, decisions, decisions...

If I were you I'd just buy 37's lol. My truck is only leveled and could easily fit 37's now on AEV's and still have plenty of room. I am running the 17x8.5 though. Unless you are planning on doing 40's down the road, I'd just do the 8.5 rim.

Not sure they come in 17X8.5 anymore. Their site only lists the 17X10 I believe.

You're right... I see the Salta is still 17x8.5. Wonder if maybe they decided to just split them up and do the Salta in 8.5 and the Katla in 10.

Looking for some knowledge.

My understanding is the 17x8.5 Salta, with the specs below, will fit 35/12.50s with no rubbing on newer (mines 2018) power wagons. Will the 17x10 Katla be more or less likely to rub with the - vs + offset and less backspacing? I don’t really understand how the different offset and backspacing will play out once mounted. Ultimately I want to run the Katla with 35/12.50 Toyo MT or KM3s on factory suspension. Thoughts?

Katla
Size: 17x10
Bolt Pattern: 8x6.5
Offset: -15.6 mm
Backspacing: 4.8"

Salta
Size: 17" x 8.5"
Bolt Pattern: 8x6.5
Offset: +27mm
Approximate Backspacing: 5.31"

So I called a AEV tech today and he told me they expect to have the 17x8.5 Katlas by the end of the month or so. He also said that unless I was planning to run 40 inch tires the 8.5s were a better option. I’ll probably take the advice and hold out.
