I would like to install an aftermarket oil pressure gauge. I have a 2016 1500 I do have handles on the pillars. Any suggestions on what a good kit to go with would be? Thanks.

Op, you have an oil.pressure reading in the electronic information already in your truck, you need to explore your dash board information screen.

Below is a photo of mine.

If you want a mechanical guage, be prepared to have to replace the sending unit, run a hose and do a bit of other work.

You can purchase a pillar replacement that holds 1 2 or 3 guages, at summit racing. Lots of people, me included have done so for AFR guages and boost guages.

Yes, I don't want to have to navigate a screen to see my oil pressure. I want the old fashioned mechanical gauge but my truck doesn't have one (I guess I got a "lower trim" level) ... I just got this truck recently.... I just discovered the ridiculous procedure to change transmission fluid  ... God I miss my old 1996!! Thanks for the reply.

I'd try summit racing, good luck.

You do know you can upgrade the cluster to the premium version like in.my photo and it has a static guage that you don't have to move too, just select it and forget it.

With the cluster upgrade, you can also use software to correct the mileage where it matches your old cluster.

I hope you great success

Add a tee to where the factory sensor hooks up at the oil filter mount.
Then some A-N hose to the clutch plate at the fire wall, this is a convenient place to drill a hole to pass the tube through.
then decide if your want an a pillar mount or top of steering column mount , both are available.
Check Geno’s garage , or google .
I did this when my sensor failed with less than 10,000 miles .
Now I know the true pressure
Going off any factory gauge utilizing a sensor is still going through a sensor.
Mechanical gauge with hot oil traveling through the dash is the only way to go , in my opinion.

I'd run a remote gauge that uses an electrical sensor instead of the small tubing that puts hot oil inside the cab.

I'm a fan of Autometer gauges, but there's lots of aftermarket gauges that use a sensor instead of a tube

After I got my 2018 1500, I kept the center display on speedometer, for some stupid reason (the speedometer is right next to it). Then I decided to leave it on "gauge summary", and it's all there all the time.

Ha! Ha! Hot oil travelling up through the dash. I once had a Piper J-3 and in the winter, even after plenty of preheat, that oil guage was pretty darn lazy. Don't think it ever got to less than lukewarm in the -20 winters when I flew.

I do ^^^^this^^^^ as well.
+1

if you do decided to go with an aftermarket oil pressure gauge, i would go with an electric one, no way in blazes will you find me running hot oil into the cab

do you want the "i need to know it right this very milisecond" read out of a mechanical gauge, or do you just like to see a needle pointing on a dial?

you may be able to find something that plugs into the OBDII port and read it out that way
