Any suggestions as to which aftermarket "stubby" works best for the FM radio?

From what I read on the forums, this doesn't impact the SiriusXM.
I'm looking to change the big antenna to not have any issues in car washes.

This would be for a 2022 Warlock.

Thanks everyone!

I bought the below. Happy so far. I do not use car washes and my paint reflects a lot of hard work. If I did, I would remove it beforehand.

Thanks!
Does it sit flush with the base?

I have to go through car washes to get the salt off (Quebec winters).
Spring, summer and fall, I'll wash it myself haha!

Whatever you get make sure it has spiral wrap around. The one I bought did not and it whistled really loud. I went back to the original antenna but painted it black.

Actual pic of mine. The chrome ring is part of the OEM ant base. Theres no gaps. Its rubberized and bends decently. I give it a thumbs up.

The one posted by ThunderMug95 doesn't have spiral wrap (unless I'm mistaken) and he stated that it works fine.

Can you clarify what you mean by the spiral wrap?

I had a stubby on mine but reception sucked and over time 2 years or so it was permanently leaned back a little. So I found the original antenna and took the ball or whatever it's called off the tip and cut it down to my liking. Glued the ball back on and reception is back.

If you have to go through car washes, definitely do not get one of those 50 cal bullet antennas. While their radio reception still works, you’ll end up with an antenna base that’s pried out if the fender. :(

Any "stubby" antenna will degrade your reception, there isn't a easy way around that. The antenna is the length it is because that is the 1/4 wave length of the FM band.

Now if you are in an area with strong signals you may not notice it but if you have some fringe stations you definitely will.

And XM is satilitte so it's the antenna on your roof

.

They cause damages in a contactless car wash??

I use a 13 inch rubberized shorty from AntennaMastsRUs on Amazon. Reception is very good but I live in a large metropolitan area. The company that makes mine is in Wisconsin and they have rubber, aluminum and shorty steel antennas in a variety of sizes.

It says the 13" is compatible with 2009-2019. I'll look at the other options for 2022.

If you have the original they gave a metal spiral that runs the length of the antenna. My new one that was shorter did not. It whistled like a banshee. Thought I had a windshield leak.

I've had great success with this brand, and I keep a spare for, just in case mine gets taken...lol

I go through soft foam brush car washes with zero issues, and the reception is still fantastic too.

It looks great, has a carbon fiber sleeve, and is a quality piece, in my opinion.

Always use blue loc-tite as well ;)

* Edit - no wind noise on mine, and I drive.... spiritedly :)
