Aftermarket receiver

I'm helping my brother replace his defective 5" Oem receiver on his 2014 Ram. I know I have to cut the metal bar in the dash to install the double din Pioneer touchscreen. Is there anything else I should be aware of when installing this? The new unit was ordered from Crutchfield with the install kit and basic wiring package since he doesn't use his steering wheel controls. Will his Oem back up cam work with his new receiver without running any new wires? Thanks for any help you guys can provide.

Depends on what harness he has. A “basic” harness suggests no, he will lose his factory backup cam. But I can’t tell you that for sure without knowing which one he grabbed.

If you gave crutfield all the info they should supply all the interface harnesses. If you get it installed and something doesn’t work we are here to help. All will be simple fixes if you hit a Road block

Ok the package from Crutchfield checks off the box for a back up camera so I'm assuming it's a plug and play. The basic package is without steering controls or USB use and it's $59
