I've just put new Alpha Rex headlights in and they started throwing a Parking Light Out code, went and bought an OBDmx+ and the AlfaOBD app, followed an online guide on how to enable LED park lamps, but it keeps saying this. Anyone know what's going on?

Have you installed a security bypass cable and if so, which unit?

I have not, I didn't know I needed one. Can you point me in the right direction?

Any 2018+ Ram requires a security bypass cable, there are a few to choose from.
If your truck is a Ram Classic, it is a 4th gen.

A frugal user might choose the less expensive 12+8 style that connects directly to the Gateway module. If that module is behind/beside the OBD connector like several 5th-gen, no biggy to remove before visiting a dealership.

My '21 4th gen has the Gateway module mounted behind the radio, hard pass for me.

I use a KaodTech Security bypass harness. It plugs in directly to the CAN BUS connectors behind/beside the OBD connector. Plug it in once, and forget it other than coil it up and suspend it behind the dash. Mine has never been removed since I installed it and the OBD2 connector is not altered/available for the dealership.

And, welcome.gif to RamForum.

@Mpgrimm2 Do you have any idea when the 4th gen Security bypass cables will be available? TIA

Thank you for the info, I'll definitely order one when they get back in stock!

You're most welcome.

Hopefully, Mpgrimm2 will have some ideas on when they will be available and provide a guesstimation. There are other alternatives but, this would always be my first choice.
