Quick question. I have a 2018 Ram 2500 4X4 CC Limited with the Cummins.
1) I have the bypass harness
2) Samsung Tab A
a) AlfaOBD is downloaded from google play store
3) Just got the OBDLink mx+ today
So, to use the OBDLink mx+, do I need to download the OBDLink app? Or will it connect via bluetooth to the AlfaOBD directly?
Just , for now, don't want to download an app I won't use.
Thanks. For up will be the TPMS reset!

Download the app so you can update the mx+. After that you can delete it. Then open alphaobd hit the Bluetooth symbol and connect to mx+

For all those that installed a camera using rca plug in place of cargo cam, do you get a error U112E when reading alarms.
If not, where did you pickup power?

Mine works, just wondering about fault.

Thanks

So I've replaced the turbo on my 2013 3500 Cummins and need to recalibrate the vgt. Does anyone know if alfaobd can do this and if it can what steps I would need to take in the app?

Edit: he responded. I had to download it to my desttop and transfer it to my phone. Got the key programed now. I just have to get it cut to open the doors. I also learned that the dealer gave me the wrong pin code. The one thay gave me came back as invalid. I had to use the pin pull app to get it. I love this app.

Good to hear. Hopefully we'll get the fix in the next general release. Out of curiosity, was the incorrect pin something simple, like a transposed digit or one number off or was it completely wrong?

No the pin wasn't even in the same ballpark.

Yes it will. The directions for known working codes is linked to the first post. You can use it as a guide to enable the correct codes.

Yes, it is nothing to worry about. I got this as well since I am using the cargo cam input for my front cam. It is because your LIN is not connected. The OEM cargo cam has a wire for the LIN (not sure which pin/location).

Had a glitch with alphaobd and my kindle fire 7. I could connect to mx+ but wouldn't let me select anything under control unit. So I just unistalled and reinstalled alphaobd and working again. So wanted to give a heads up if anyone is experiencing a similar issue just unistall and reinstall and you should be good to go

Just wanted to drop a Thank You to the pioneers involving the AlfaOBD. After a few stumbling blocks, I was able to reset my TPMS to 45/front & 40/rear on my ‘18 2500.
Left it sit maybe 10 minutes, lowered the rears to 45psi, started the truck and went for a test drive. No more yellow tire light!
Only problem I had was loading the status file to google drive. When I opened the file, there was nothing in it…so I am not sure why..
I’m an “Apple” guy, so I’m still learning the Android stuff.
What I did next was to bring up the Status Log, and I just snapped a bunch of pics of it.

Edit: Should have stated that I took the pics of my initial status log “before” I did the TPMS reset.

You need to download the alfa OBD app from the Google Play Store. It's $49.00. It is only for Android devices or there is also a windows version.

Hi all,
New to the forum and wanted to make a first post. I know a lot of you like myself are trying to load the different pages like performance and off road. After stumbling across some info left on the coffee shop floor ;) The apps which are called xlets have requirements known as show conditions. Looking at the off-road pages there are three bcm can messages it looks for 1)Vehicle line 2)Srt present and 3)off-road pages present. Going to be experimenting when time permits. In the software it shows that srt must be off, off-road pages set to on and the one in question is the vehicle line setting. Another note is that the off-road pages are there in the install manifest but will not be loaded unless these conditions are met. Something to try would be to change the settings and go into the radio engineering settings and select reset radio to default and then reset the radio. This may allow the radio to install the pages in the back end QNX operating system. More to come as I revisit that coffee shop!
Background. Electronics engineer, software developer and dodge ram lover!

I recently installed a 2016 7 inch cluster in my 2015 Express. It seems to be working fine except it always reverts back to the Tire pressure screen upon startup. The TPMS works, correct readings are shown on the dash. Is there an upper threshold that may be causing this? I have E rated tires that are wider than stock, is the screen popping up because there is roughly 48lbs per tire?

None of those things will cause the TPMS screen to pop up on the screen. The speedometer is supposed to re boot to whatever screen you left it on unless there is an issue that needs to be addressed. They will on occasion pop up on the wrong screen but should usually be correct. I would reccomend disconnecting the battery for 15 or 20 min and touch the negative and positive cables together to start. You can also try turning the key to the run position without starting the truck and press the gas pedal to the floor five times to rest the speedometer. Another thing you can try is completely unplugging the speedometer from the truck and then reconnecting it. When you do this they kind of re boot. Not saying any of this will help but it's something you can try. I actually had this happen with the stock 3.5" screen my truck came with and it was annoying. When I installed the 7" it stopped happening.
