On a side not I was able to successfully enable power fold mirrors in.a 2015 Express today so we can cross that off the list if it hasn't already been verified.

That sucks. Maybe same reason I couldn't enable auto entry/exit with air suspension, just not available on some trim levels

Edit: my bad, misread the post, lol. Glad to hear it worked. Hoping to add them to my truck one day soon.

Nice! Did they auto fold when turning off the truck?

@Aaron Gilliam I did not realize you had a 2012. I don't think anyone has successfully used the Alfa program on pre 13'??

No they do not fold when you shut off the truck. He previously had the code activated with the genie but there's a big delay when you push the button to fold the mirrors so I took all the codes out with Alpha tool and they stopped working completely so I know the codes were out and then I reinstalled the codes and they worked again so I know the tools capable of adding the codes.

However on a side note I did connect to the other modules by tapping into the Can hi and low 125k lines and disconnecting pins in my obdii and placing can hi and low in accordingly.

I also was able to add my ITBCM successfully and shows on my evic now!

It never came with the ITBCM and wasn’t wired for it. I wired it in and works find. Now shows on evic. Of course in picture I do t have trailer hooked up I’m just pressing the levers.

So hope this helps someone!

I might play around with the settings and see if I can use my high beams as DRL.

Very interested to see what your results are on that. I have a '14 CC as well, in the Express trim with factory projectors and only the low beams, turn signals and fogs work as DRLs. There is an option there for the high beams and the setting takes with no errors, but they don't come on as DRLs.

I did some checking and apparently on Canadian trucks with the factory projectors, the DRL enabled by default is the turn signals. This make me think that there's something in the wiring or that having the factory projectors enabled in the BCM that prevents using the high beams. Canadian trucks with quad headlights supposedly use the high beams for the DRLs and those with US trucks who switched to projectors from quads have been able to activate the high beams as DRLs so it's not in the lights themselves.

Yeah I may have spoke too soon. Set my high beams as the DRL and didn't work. Same as you no errors or anything. Switched it back to turn signal and all is well.

Oh well. I'm fine with the signals being the DRL. High beam would just be nice because it's hardly ever used.

I have the factory projector headlights in a non projector truck with the retroshop harness and I had mine said to high beam DRL and they worked fine. I have since set them to parking lights but I'm going to put them back because like everybody else I'm worried it will damage my lights. I'm hoping that when I set them back on the high beam they still work as they did before.

Yeah that's what was just said. Those that had quad lights and upgraded to projectors are able to make this work. Those who have projectors from the factory can't use high beams as DRL for whatever reason. I am tempted to switch my settings to "quad lights" and see if that will let me use them without messing anything up.

Oh sorry I misunderstood and thought you had quad headlights from the factory.

Sadly this tool software isn’t as great as sounded to be. While It works with most vehicles past 2013. It shows and has support for 2009 2010 and 2011/2012 Ram trucks.

None of the features work for the 2012 except the ITBCM. I’ve conacted the software developer and as I suspected he’s not responding at all with issues I’m having, I emailed him about not having the cab hi/lo at my OBD connector, and the adapter plug wouldn’t work because Of that. I also Borrowed a friends OBDlink MX with no success. Never heard back about that either. Yet was quick to send me a link to purchase the android software. Ugh.

Looks like he AE tool is going to be the best bet as it’s advertised as workin with all 4th gen Rams. Which includes the 2012.

How long ago did you email the developer about the issues you've been having? Most experiences have been between 24 to 48 hours.

Edit: Going to see if @MADDOG can edit the title of the thread to "AlfaOBD 2013 - Present". Although, I don't know if anyone with a 19' to use it yet either.

So not Ram specific, but connected the OBDLink MX and AlfaOBD to my wife's Jeep on the weekend and uploaded her configuration.

This morning when she went to go to work, her dash was lit up like a Christmas tree, her transmission was making bad noises. Had to get a tow to the dealership.

Not sure if it's related at all, but has anyone ever had something similar happen? Haven't heard back from the dealer, but service guy suspects it's the transmission module. Any chance the AlfaOBD corrupted it?

That sucks! Sorry to hear that and I have not heard anyone using it for any other. When connected and going through the drop down menus was it definitely set correctly for the Jeep and not mistakenly still set for the Ram or some other? I know that will cause all kinds of issues but are usually recoverable.

Edit: Were any changes made or just looking at config?

Changed it to Jeep. Hope it wasn't something I did, wife will never let me live it down.

It is definitely odd it took till the next day until anything went wrong. If you were careful, I doubt it is anything you did. In a rush I connected as the wrong vehicle before but was able to recover. I think it would be a pretty big coincidence for the transmission module to go bad the very next day??

Maybe flash the BCM instead and see if it clears everything up? Although, I would think he would be able to see if it was just something corrupted?

Didn't use the Jeep after connecting and uploading.

Dealer has the Jeep now, should know soon what went wrong. I'll keep the forum updated just in case it was a result of the AlfaOBD.

I ordered it. Looking forward to see what it can do. I have a 2014 and a 2018 to use it on. My biggest thing is dropping the TPMS threshold in my 2018 CTD. I need to run by the dealership and get the Pin for that.

So I got the update, and started playing to see if I saw anything different. I was able to activate radio apps, and now I have the back up camera selection on my RA2 which strangely I didn't have after the dealer flashed the sales code. I screwd up playing with the instrument cluster. I selected fleet I'd reset ,and my truck became what looks like German I freaked out. I was able to get the units back to US measurement, but language was still in German. I grabbed my owners manual, and start to go inside to see if I can figure out how to get it back. Then it hit me to see if I can locate the language selection. When I went back in the truck, and turned the key on. The EVIC went blank for a couple of seconds and came back to English phew!
