Yes unfortunately The Back-up Camera in motion is only available on the 16 and newer trucks. My truck is a 14 and I wish I had it as well.

I vaguely remember reading a little bit about it when I had everything on order. It was when people were having issues with their cluster flashing after module replacements/upgrades. They would run the proxy alignment to sync the new module and remove the fault. Think it was the Fiat or Jeep I was reading??This has been an interesting read. I decided to order the MX but before I did I searched to see if the MX and AlphaOBD would be compatible with the Dodge Dart. I found some interesting information on one of the Dart forums which leads me to an observation and a question.
It seems that it is necessary to perform a procedure to the BCM called “proxy realignment” in order for the changes to take effect. Has anyone noticed if this is possible or needed with the RAM BCM? I wonder, if it is possible, that it would make changes appear immediately and not at some time in the future. When I get my setup I can check it out. Thanks for a great thread.
All of the trucks from 2013 and up had the capability of having the backup camera on the radio screen. Some of the trucks had the backup camera in the mirror. Usually it was a trucks that came with the RA1 non touch screen radio that had the backup camera in the rearview mirror instead of the radio. It just depends on on what options your truck came equipped with. My truck is a 2014 that came with the RA 2 5" touch screen radio and the backup camera was in the radio then and then of course when I upgraded to the 8.4 radio the backup camera was in the screen still. My truck did not come with the cargo cam and I had no control over turning on the backup camera while driving the only time it would come on is when it was in reverse. Now that I've added the Cargo Camera option I can access the backup camera but it will not turn on unless I'm doing under 7 miles an hour. I just get a blue screen. So heres my next question what does your truck do when you try to access the reverse camera while driving? The previous owner of my truck was pretty crafty and converted the harness on my 14 to the 16 harness. So my back up camera displays on the 8.4" rather than just the mirror. When I try to access the reverse camera while driving I get the blue screen... which doing some research has led me to believe that I would be able to view the reverse camera if it were receiving power from the BCM. So my thought is to just add constant 12V to the camera and see what happens.

No I've only just had the backup camera in my radio screen never in my rearview mirror. I just added the code for the cargo camera so my backup camera buttons will show up in my settings. I haven't even installed the wiring or the cargo cam itself. My ultimate goal is to install the cargo xam and harness and get that working and then run a splitter so I can run a front camera as well.Rick, I didn't realize you had both options displayed on your 14 radio. If you are getting the blue screen (Radio input active) then it may just be a matter of disconnecting the Lin Bus CBC 3 Signal to force the camera to output video. You could do a test run by temporarily removing the pin at the i550 tailgate connector. If it works, you could try this option that I thought up back when the RAx jailbreak was still available...

This may have been answered already and i may have missed it but in theory the dealer should/can change these settings as well then, correct? I apologize if this has been answered previously. I want to add the fod lights with higb beams and the windows with fobs feature
No the dealer cannot change any of these codes this is why we use the tool. Your BCM is actually locked depending on your VIN number for what the dealer can access. The dealer cannot add heated ventilated seats or heated steering wheel Etc to certain trucks it didn't come with the options in the factory they're only allowed to activate options that were available in your particular trim level. As far as the fogs with high beam and other codes the dealer cannot access that at all and cannot change it.This may have been answered already and i may have missed it but in theory the dealer should/can change these settings as well then, correct? Another way to explain it is, the dealer can only add sales codes to your truck that are options from the factory for that specific trim level. Trailer brake controllers are an option on every trim level, so that can be added. Heated seats are not an option on tradesmans, so they can’t add that sales code. It’s not a matter of who you know at the dealer, because the sales code isn’t selectable on their scanner because FCA won’t allow it to be. As far as the nav on the ra3 radios, it’s in all of them. It just needs to be unlocked.I have a hard time believing that. They can change the sales code for a trailer brake so it would be like doing the same, no? My 15 ram didnt have NAV and once i paid for it then they could add the sales code for that as well. Maybe you just have to have connections with your service rep/manager lol

Have you never been able to change settings on the kenwood, or only after the recall?Has anyone tried and succeeded in using Alfa OBD to change normal user programmable features like turning off the horn beep when locking doors?
I had my tuck in for the T51 water pump recall and they flashed the BCM for another recall. I turned the vented seats back on with Alfa obd, but can’t get the damn horn to not honk when locking. I have a kenwood head unit with the I datalink maestro, and contrary to what was advertised, I can’t change settings on the kenwood like I did with the Oem head unit.
Using the “program customer features” drop down menu for windows 10 version, and “sound horn on lock status”. I have it as off, but horn still chirps when locking.
