I just installed a set of Alpharex G2 Pro headlights to replace some quad ones on my 2014 Ram 1500. I'm thinking about swapping the low and/or high beam bulbs (H7) with some LEDs.

A few questions:
  • Will I need to use AlfaOBD to tell the truck it has LED instead of halogen lights?
  • Any recommendations for good value (read "cheap") bulbs (Amazon links preferred)? I've seen good things about Katana & Hitari. Any better values than those?
  • Are the LEDs a simple swap (i.e., no resistors or other modules needed)?

I have these exact headlights on my 2014 Lone Star. I went ahead and spent the money for the Supernova SV4s, definitely worth the money. As far as the "Parking Light Out" error message, I contacted AlphaRex and they sent me a load resistor for free and that took care of the problem.

What's involved with wiring in the resistors? What does that look like?

I swapped hi & low to LED's. Not happy with low, hi was great. Put HID's in lows & they are great. Be sure to adjust them properly. I never get flashed any more. I know, sad right, lol. Never needed any resistors or alphaOBD. How did you go about doign this ? With the HID setup. I just purchased a HID kit and not sure If I am missing a cable to power on the actual headlights ? Does the harness from the ALpharex plug into the HID ballast?

Would love to see your cutoff line and output at night with the HID setup. Got any pics?

I used Fahren led in the high beams on mine; everything fit under the dust cover.

I have HID in the lows.

I had DDM Saber Pro V2 in my alpharex and they were fantastic. I tried both hikari and katana, and they were horrible. I tried HID, and they were good, but not great. These are great. No blue, just bright white and they actually project out like lights should. I was out driving the katanas and hikaris to the point it felt dangerous. I put the saber pros in the highs and lows. With the highs on, it was like daylight at night.
