I just ordered a set of the AlphaRex LUXX series LED headlight assemblies for my 2012 1500. I did some research on this forum and AlphaRex seems to be a popular choice to upgrade the crappy OEM headlights. I had a 2002 before this truck and the headlights sucked; I had hoped that Dodge improved them on the 4th gen, but that's not the case. Anyway, I have two questions for those who are running the LUXX series.

1. The AlphaRex have LED turn signals; is there an issue with hyper-blink? If so, is a resistor necessary, is there an internal resistor or does AlphaRex offer a plug-n-play inline? If not, what's the solution?

2. The LUXX series has a daytime running lamp function, my truck does not have DRL's. From what I understand there's a grey wire on the AlphaRex lights that needs to be tapped in to the fuse box to power the DRL's. I'd want them on anytime the truck is running; any suggestions on what fuse to go to? I assume a standard fuse tap would work?

Thanks,
AJ

I run these lights on my 18 2500. There is no hyper blinking with the turn signals it plug and play I believe it does come with a small resistor that you can stick somewhere in the housing area that controls the turn and drl I believe.
For the drls my truck didn’t come with the drl switched on but you connect the grey wire to I believe f46 or 47 in the fuse box with a fuse tap would be the best option. it is on the website and then run your connections for the drl to the battery so that they actually function. They will always be on they are brighter in the day and once the headlights are switched on they dim a little bit stay on.

This website shows you how to do the fuse tap and which fuse to use on your year truck.

Ive just installed these but i have an issue. When the truck is in park they look great. Top and bottom light up the way i want. But once i put in in drive the highbeam comes on at resuced intensity. What do i need to do so that my DRL looks like this at all times?

Sounds like your high beams are set as your DRLs. Check in the radio as there maybe a setting to turn them off, if not you'll need to use AlfaOBD to turn them off.
You could also add the actual DRL circuits to the headlights. If your truck originally had projector headlights then the circuits are already at the headlight plugs, the Quad style headlights do not. Here's a couple of threads to help on what's needs to add the DRL circuits:

your probably describing it wrong, either you use the dedicated DRL circuits from the truck or you use the simulated "DRL" relay that wires to a fuse tap but you don't use both.
The trucks DRL circuits will turn on when the vehicle is in gear and the parking brake is not set. The can also be set to drop out when the turn signals are activated.

Sorry for any confusion. I have a classic express so it came with factory quads. As my truck does not have a drl circuit i wired according to alpharex instructions. So that means on ignition the top and bottom led strips stay lit. I need to figure out what to change in AlfaOBD (first time user) so that when im in gear the high beam doesnt come on which it currently does

Read through the first post of the AlfaOBD thread: https://www.ramforum.com/threads/alfaobd.123982/
There is a "Known Working List" link, the settings for how to enable the DRLs are in there, just disable them from the same setting(s). You could just enable the radio menu option for turning the DRLs On/Off also.
Adding the DRL dedicated circuits to your truck is easy and would make the headlights look more "factory".
