Am i crazy or is there some type of gasket or flange seal that goes between the front pipe and exhaust manifold?

If there is.. I've completely lost it. I bought what i thought was a replacement... fel pro 61710... but it doesn't work there. I can't find any images or videos that can confirm is there's something that goes there or not and I can't remember as I took it apart quite a while ago. Does anyone have a definitive answer for me? 2014 ram 1500 5.7

Edit: I did take a picture, just gotta figure out how to attach it

When I had my 1500, the Kooks shorties I installed did not have a good seal at that joint you are asking about. Tried high-temp rtv but it didnt work. Ended up sorting through the donut gaskets at Oreilly and found some that fit. Those sealed it up great.

I had a performance exhaust shop make custom cups to line up and seal perfectly at that spot on each side of my rig.

However, if the alignment is that off between the exhaust manifold and the cat connection point as your picture illustrates, then there are other issues and no exhaust donut gasket will fix that.

If this is the case, it's a thought to also have a custom y-pipe made up that will let the HEMI breathe much better, and the exhaust shop can properly align those connection points up nicely, too.

The stock y-pipe has two 2.5" pipes smashed into one another and the stuffed into another single pipe. The restriction this causes is tremendous to say the least. You'd be surprised at how much happier the HEMI breathes with a proper flowing y-pipe (this was one of the best upgrades I did to my HEMI).
