I am an independant dealer. My dealer fee pays for itself in what I save running our 2 vehicles and filters with Amsoil. I sell to a few friends and guys around the office and its just gravy. I could never replace my salary selling oil, but I appreciate the opportunity to save on what I would use anyway.

I'm probably going to do it, too when it's time to switch the other cars over. I don't think for just one it would be worth it.

So I got the Trinity updated and got the new calibration on the truck. I went to "Performance" to copy the stock file to the Trinity so I could send it to Sean. The Trinity gave a warning saying the voltage was too low for programming and asked if I wanted to cancel or continue. I canceled. It's pretty cold here today, low 20s. Should I crank my truck and let it run and try again or just wait until a warmer day? Or is this maybe some other issue?

Never mind...cranked the truck and let it run a while, and it worked. I just sent the file off.

You guys with a Trinity...does your screen have little peck marks all over it? Mine did straight out of the box. I was thinking maybe it's something to do with the touch screen but just want to be sure.

It's on the outside of the screen. Like tiny dimples in the plastic.

What are the improvements of Amsoil over something like Mobile 1 5W-20?

They are a different class of oil sig series Amsoil is class 4 and Mobil one is class 3. Ams is designed for extended drain Mobil one is not technically unless you you get extended performance formula. You have to decide what your are looking for.

If you plan to change every 3000 to 5000 then Mobil is designed for that.

If you intend to run extended drains you should probably go with an oil made for it such as Amsoil. I am not an expert but when I change my oil I can tell you Amsoil feels the best when I change the oil it seems to retain it original chemistry so much better than other oil I have used. This oil change I used Valvoline but I will be going back when done because Amsoil is just awesome. No I don't sell it.

Signature Series is a 100% synthetic, group 4 like smiley said. Mobil is a full synthetic, group 3, which still has some petroleum products in it, from my understanding. Amsoil Signature Series is good for 25,000 miles / 1 year. I do mostly in town driving so I'm not going to take it that far. I'll either change at six months or have it analyzed and see how Amsoil tells me it is looking.

So I posted some pics on the DiabloSport forum today and immediately got a response back saying they'd send me a new one if I filled out a return authorization form. I did, and it was approved so I'll be sending this one back soon. It kind of sucks I'll be without it after having it less than a week, and I'm out for shipping it back... But at least they're replacing it.

Have you ever sent your oil to have it analyzed after draining? If so, what were the results?

I have not but I feel based on all the analysis I have seen on bobs and with a good filter there will be no issues.

I took the analysis question to mean having a sample analyzed by Amsoil so they can tell you if the oil you're running is still good or not. I plan to do that at around six months since all my driving is in town...I don't want to stretch it a whole year unless they say it's still good.
