Because I live in the middle of no where, No one rents tools. ( spring compressor). And because we have one shop. They want $300+. To install leveling shocks and align. If I buy the bilstein leveling shocks. Can I install the ring for stock height? And if I do do I still need a spring compressor. Or. If I even buy regular replacement shocks for the front. Do I still need a spring compressor?

Yep, you'll need a spring compressor either way. You may look into Ranchos quicklift system. I believe those come with the whole strut assembly already set for a 2" level.

You could remove the struts yourself, then have the shop swap your coil springs over. Should only cost 1/2 hour labor.

I would be a little wary of those 'one spring fits all' solutions. Ram likely has half a dozen of different front springs depending on engine and cab configuration. It may get the lift but ride and/or handling may suffer.

You could also buy the tool for $40 - $50. If you never plan on using it again sell it online and make some of your money back. If it were me and came down to paying labor or having a tool to show for it, I'd take the tool over paying someone to do it.
