Can you take some pictures of the resistor set up how it is on your truck?

Try flipping the connector at the headlight socket a 180 degrees. I doubt it'll do anything but worth a shot

I tried with no success. Flipped both connectors on each side. Got on the phone with Underground lighting (manufacturer of the harness) and they said it’s not their harness. Called AlphaRex, spoke to a guy for about 30 minutes. Had me flipping connectors and messing with wires, still nothing. Referred me to one of their Ram specialists, he asked me if I had accesses to alfaobd, to which I said no since I have apple products. Then no response after. All in all not satisfied with AlphaRex. This is my 2nd set of AlphaRex headlights for my ram and I’ve had non stop problems... damn it! Lol. For $300 you’d thing they’d have a decent set of headlights without any problems!

It's not necessarily a alpharex issue. But they definitely should have a solution by now. I saw a month or so ago that they were looking for people within a certain distance of them to test different solutions on. Morimoto had a similar issue when they first came out with headlights for our truck's. Ram's are just really picky when it comes to lighting. Without alfaobd you'd need either a canbus adapter or a hole relay harness to run hid's and even then it's not a 100 percent sure thing. Even adding simple switchbacks to quads usually requires a resistor.

Can you draw a diagram of how the resistors are layed out and where they line up in relation to the truck's connector. And label the wire colors.

What year is your truck?

Forgot to add, I use apple products also but bought a $50 Amazon Kindle fire 7 tablet and installed Google play to use with alfaobd. But the cost of that, security bypass cable, obdlink mx+ has all paid for itself already with alfaobd.

I didn’t even think of using a kindle. What’s a bypass cable? I might go that route. As far as your first of the two replies, you lost me haha

If you have a 2018 + you'll need a security bypass cable that a member/vendor sells for $50. That will allow alfaobd to bypass the security module that FCA installed to prevent vehicle hacking and anyone without it being able to make changes to the newer trucks.

As far as the diagram just something like this (don't mind the child like drawing, not easy on the phone)

So w=white. W/0=white/orange, BL= blue

I was the one that posted about them looking for people with Rams near their office to try out the headlights and try and come up with solutions ... I was going to go but they lagged when I ordered my first set of Alpharex headlights ... then they said they didn't have any resistors so wtf would I drive to their office if they had no resistors to try and diagnose the problems lol ...

Honestly for the money Alpharex shouldn't have light out errors of any damn kind ...

If the first set of lights worked just fine, and these ones aren't, I'm inclined to say you've got a bad set of lights. Perhaps there's a short or bad board for the turn signal board if they aren't working at all or just intermittently.

I agree. The First set only had a faulty wiring relay for the DRL’s, however the turns worked. Might just have to return and replace with the G1’s again.

Update:

purchased ANOTHER set of alpha Rex headlight and received them today. I decided to go with the G1’s since I didn’t have turn signal problems the first time. This is my 3rd pair ‍♂️ I’ve gotta say, I can do this project in about 10 minutes now lol. Anyways, seems like my turn signals and DRL’s work perfect with the G1’s.

As a summary, the G2’s must have some LED mishap. I even purchased in line 3157 resistors, which surprisingly didn’t help. So bottom line, if you’re looking for aftermarket headlights and don’t want to spend a pretty penny on the Luxx series headlights, the G1’s have no problems.. 3 headlights later and two months worth of anger.. hopefully these stay solid. Thanks everybody who replied to the post.

Glad it worked out. I've been back and forth for weeks on what to do. I'm currently using stock chrome reflectors with 55w hid. They look great and work great, but either I'm getting used to them or their brightness is fading. I know the glare shield is getting really hot and shows signs of melting so I'm about to pull the hids out and put leds in. I'm torn if I should get a set of the g1's like you have or get a set of the modifystreet oem projector style, or just a set of oem black reflector housings.

I know that feeling! The amount of thought that goes into headlights is crazy! Have you thought about LED’s in the reflectors? I think “technically” for the best output, LED’s and HID’s should be in projectors, although I’m not an expert by any means. These are the ones I got on eBay. I threw in a set of LED’s and they’re super bright and clean4bd98dd1952bba889362aaba63139aa2.jpg

I just put leds in today because the hids I had were melting the glare shield. So, in an effort to keep from burning my truck, I decided to put some leds in since they tend to run a bit cooler than 55w hids. The hids produced an amazing beam, Super clean, super bright.
Any chance you have pics of those lights on your truck and of the beam pattern?
