Another one looking for some advice on a mild lift.

My situation is this - 2017 quad cab 4x4 - almost all of my needs are centered around pulling a travel trailer - but, I am also looking to raise the truck 2 to 2.5 inches ish for those times that we do get off road, (and put on some taller tires, thinking 285/65R20's on my stock wheels). We were in Moab a while back and were wishing for some extra clearance.

I'm leaning heavily to the Eibachs with their springs for the front - I know that availability is an issue right now but I can wait a bit.

The rear is where I'm uncertain, right now I have some TufTruck 2011 springs installed - and they ride perfect for my needs. Initially I was going to retain those and use some 2" spacers, but was advised against going with spacers - don't know if this is accurate advice or not.

Looking at a couple of different springs for the rear, TufTruck 1223's, Icon Springs, Possibly the Eibachs but I'm not sure the Eibachs would raise the back enough. I want to raise the back sufficiently in relation to whatever I raise the front, so that I'm not nose high when I'm towing. I pretty much keep 250-300 pounds of camping gear in the back of the truck at all times.

Rear shocks I'm thinking Icons.

I just did the 3 inch kit zone has and even though I'm having some glitches from the front. The back is great rides nice lift is solid and comes with all the relocation brackets and hardware to keep everything in line. The ride quality is day and night with everything straightened back out

What impact did the 1211's have on the rear height?

The height stayed exactly the same as stock.

I'm thinking I should just throw some 2" spacers in the back, retain the 1211's, and add a longer shock - thinking the Icons, and be done with it. Add some Eibach's or Bilstein's to the front.

I know this isn't optimum, but not really finding what I want, and my off road will be fairly limited.

Spoke with TufTruck today and they can modify their 1211's by stretching them, but it looks like 1" is about max they can do (and it is expensive to have it done),

Check out this page of my icon install thread. Scroll down. Shows the rear loaded up to 1000# in increments of 200# with the squat measured at each increment.

What's your tongue weight of your trailer? I pulled a little tear drop yesterday and with some full coolers in back and it leveled it out pretty good. Appeared a bit too much squat for the weight in my opinion. Feels like the initial coil rate is pretty soft on the ICONs...but in testing the squat measured consistently. Hmmm

Thanks I looked at your thread, very informative.

I was considering the Icon springs for the rear, my issue with that is my tongue weight of the trailer is about 650 pounds, add in all of the coolers, generator, camping gear and I'm right at my max cargo capacity of 1340 Lbs. I think the Icons might be too soft without adding in air bags for when I'm towing - and I tow extensively. Not fond of air bags either.

Still weighing my options, but I do like the idea of the longer Icon spring. I could achieve the lift that I want with spacers in the rear, but I've been told the spacers might allow my springs to come unseated (the TufTruck 1211 springs are shorter than even the stock springs) - unless everything is strapped in.

The icons are softer than stock in 1st rate, 75% firmer on the 2nd. Granted, at what point that 2nd rate starts weight wise ? i have no idea, but given the test Bruiser did you'll be seating down pretty much at stock height with about 800-1000lbs, something that with stock springs you'll negative -2" at least :)

What 3" zone kit did you go with?

Getting back to stock height with a load wouldn't be too bad, as long as I keep the front lift to no more than 1 1/2" to 2", as my weight distribution hitch will help raise the rear/lower the front a bit also.

The 285/65R20's (34.6" tire) that I'm considering would be good for another 3/4" of clearance as well.

As much as I don't want air bags, I'm wondering how well they would work with the Icon springs when I'm towing.

It's the rear section of the 4 inch lift it comes with 3 inch coils and all of the necessary equipment with it

I think you'll be ok with Icons and no bags. You can always get the bags if needed later on. Im selling mines cheap, Airlift 1000, I opened the box to see it's content but never installed them.
