Any suggestions before buying my first lift kit?

So ive been looking at some lift kits for my 2006 ram 1500 4x4 and had some interst in the 6in rough country lift. If there anything to be concered about when having a lift like that? Just wondering what some of your sugestions are. Will 17" wheels fit too?
