Any way to turn off auto dim?

My two rearview mirrors with the auto dim function do not really work properly. They dim in early morning light on foggy days and other times when they shouldn't. Is there a way to turn this off?

There's an option in the 8.4 radio to turn the mirror auto-dim off.
The sensor is for the auto-dim feature is on the bottom rim of the housing near the buttons, you can cover that.
