I never noticed it this bad in my old '17 ram..Seems like the first mile or so, it feels like the transmission is slipping. Reminds me of the 4000 stall torque converter i had in my old race car.

Modern transmissions are programmed to shift differently when cold, I assume to not stress the metal more than needed. So, yes it should feel as it's slipping. I've driven Chevy and Ford that do the same.

For how long? All day or just when you start and go? If you want to warm up the tranny fluid a tad put truck in neutral when you warm up, it spins the fluid but not in park. At least the rfe's do this, perhaps the zf's do to.
