Back when I worked at the CHRYSLER Stealership . I saw a lot of those PODS mounted on the A-Piller .
I thought they we very cool. Our Tech didn't want any thing not stock.
Sorry I didn't finish my response a few nights ago .
I personally liked those A-Pods .& If you can find a tack that will fit in that side pocket . I believe it'll be fine.

When I had my 1985 C10 Chevy, I bought a 3 gauge a-pillor pod. Here is a tip to make them look just like stock moldings and trim. Litely sand the pod. Lite coat of primer.
Now this is the trick part. Buy a spray can of Duplicolor bedliner. This stuff works great, it comes in a gray and black. The thicker the coat the more texture you will get. Mine to two coats to match texture of the other pieces of trim in my truck. Test spray onto a spare piece to get the hang of it. Once done paint the color to match.
