I have a Carven Progressive with their 5” tips. Very happy with it. Quality is apparent and sounds just right to me. Love the black tips!

Okay, the muffler part looks simple for me, figured I can take the old one off quick, but the alignment part will take time for me

All time and money well spent.

For me I went with the competitor as I wanted the louder of the two they offered.

It’s really quite simple. Just be sure and lube up the joints before disassembly. Mine was less than a year old and they fought me a little. I know I’ll prolly never use it again but I bought an exhaust hanger removal tool that helped out tremendously. 2b6e0e8f031190cf1fc16ad2cbf8be87.jpg

Okay, thanks @corneileous I think mine will be a pain to take off it's 2 years old who knows I'll find out soon.

I changed out mine summer of 2018 and I got the truck brand new November of 2016. They were a little bit to budge but the trick was WD40 on the hangers and they slide right off.

WD40 is our best friend lol I'll have a can of it by my side if needed.

I cut a piece of wood 3/4" thick and used it as a gap guide for the exhaust tips, then just eye balled depth. Looks good enough from the drivers seat. ;)

I did a similar thing. I taped a few o ring washers together to keep the gap from top of tip to bumper cut out equal

I got a 2017 Ram 1500 express, been looking for a great loud sounding exhaust I came across the carven competitor exhaust on youtube, sounded great... But I'm wanting some other opinions and options

I put the Carven Progressive on my 2018 and I really like the sound. I have had all brands of mufflers, glass packs and even had 5" straight tubes without any mufflers on one of my cars. This Carven sounds much better that them all. I have heard people complaining about the "drone" at different speeds/RPMs but I have not noticed any with mine until the other day I was heading out I-10 west of San Antonio where the road was straight and the speed limit was 85. I did notice a small amount of drone at that speed, but not enough to bother me.
I have had lots of compliments about how that HEMI sounds.

Carven Progressive with 5 inch tips. Very little drone at about 70 in 8th gear, but it doesn't bother me or the wife. Overall system sounds awesome.IMG_0549.JPG

Hey guys after 30000 miles the carven competitor exhaust inlet clamp side came loose. The clamp felt tight when I loosened the bolts to re-adjust. I suggest checking torque at oil changes or using blue lock tight.

Been driving around with mine for a few days now, bought it used from a member here. Love the sound. Especially that 2nd to 3rd shift under acceleration. Progressive, factory tips.

Had to remove the tab on the driver's side pipe only. I thought my driver's side pipe sat too low, but after looking at other factory trucks i think the passenger's side is too high. I'll eventually go to the 5" tips.

WD40 or PB Blaster will be your friend. Use them liberally. 15mm deep wall socket is the only tool i used.

On my 2018 1500 with Carven R Competitor I have zero rasp. This may be due to me still having the resonators on. Once those come off i believe you will experience the rasp

He also has headers which I agree make it raspy. On a stock truck I have no rasp on my Carven progressive with 5” tips. I actually gave away my NIB borla XR1 and y-adapter to my BIL to upgrade his pro xs. The XR1 sounds good on his stock truck. But the Carven is a little louder and deeper. Even by his omission.
