It's hard to find video's with the exact bulb size you are looking for. Or if you do they aren't in a projector.

Although Headlight Revolution does a great job with their reviews, their prices are a bit too high for me.

I've started buying everything from lightwerkz.com they have good sales. Usually 15-20% off when they do. They are out of nyc/jersey area. It does take them a month or two to get any new released products, especially morimoto. But they are easy to work with.

This is why I asked the group if anyone has tried the Morimoto 2stroke 2.0's... I'm not sure I trust Headlight revolution anymore. I believe they are making side money off recommendations. Even before I purchased my AlphaRex Pro Series and found they were good for the money... Headlight revolution told me flat out they would won't even test those headlights because of poor quality. That the only aftermarket headlight they find is any good was Morimoto's.

other than the AlphaRex using H7 I like the headlights. I have also seen some stuff with Headlight Revolution (out of MN) with the BBB that concerns me.

I get it, but if they were pushing Morimoto I don’t see how pointing out
That they perform worse in the projectors helps that cause. Either way, get them if you are sold, I’m just not sold.

I'm wondering if they meant the 4 led projector alpharex lights they weren't going to test

The 2stroke 2.0 is similar to the Diode Dynamics.

Headlight Revolution is now owned by The Retrofit Source.

You won't see Headlight Revolution recommending anything competing against Morimoto/TRS. The Alpharex is a direct competitor to the Morimoto replacement headlamps.

Anyone try these with the DDM Tuning 50w Saber PRO LEDs?
I think I would like the slightly warmer colour of the DDM tuning ones. (tests show they are around 5250k)

Just saw on Amazon that Modifystreet sells replacement 4th gen quad reflector housings with H11 6000k HID kits for $148.
I thought only projectors could use HID, but they seem to think it's ok for reflectors too.

It's not ideal but you can. I've seen some companies test hid's in ram reflector housings and the cut off was almost identical to halogens but with slight "glare" above the Hotspot. The issue becomes, same with led's, people not properly aiming their headlights. I pass a Silverado almost every night on my way home from work that either has led's or hid's in his low's and fogs and they aren't aimed correctly at all and it's really hard to see past him from about 30-40' until I get by him.

Well, I just can’t make up my damn mind, lol. My wife thinks I’m nuts. I just spent the last couple of hours tweaking the bulb positions to get the hotspots in the right places (as best I could using my garage wall about 15’ away in the daylight anyway). I also put new dust caps on and stuffed the innovated 35w ballasts in them. I have Hylux 45w, but the lights are really warm in color with them. So much that I put 6500k in my TYC projectors to get the color white again. I did not want to buy another set of bulbs, so I went back to 35w ballasts.
I’ll aim them in the morning before I leave for work and hope for the best.

My wife is the same way. I'm always messing with mine. Will be doing it again soon. Just ordered a set of 6500k morimoto bulbs to see if they are any brighter

I think this is the 6th or 7th time I’ve had the headlights out since I got them in January/February. Same with the fog lights. I pull the Morimoto s, our the stock back in with led, bought different led bulbs, bought another set of led bulbs, then went back to the Morimoto, lol. I’ve thought about getting a set of Hikari bulbs for the oem fogs.

as for 6500k, That cooler color temp may be better for you, but they won’t be “brighter”. I know that 4300k is brighter, but I see better with the 5500k. 6500k is too blue for me. OEM 4300k-4500k in stock hid cars is a great color, but I have yet to see a 4300k aftermarket bulb match it.

I'm running the xb55 ballast so my 5500k are closer to a high 4000k. So I'm hoping that you 6500k will be closer to what I'm used to and am looking for. I'll measure them with a lux meter just for comparison. This may be the longest I've gone without messing with the. It's been a good month in a half. It's just be cold and haven't felt like messing with them. I need to adjust the driver's side bulb to the right a touch. When I swap bulbs I'll do it then

Just found & ordered these:
https://brightsource.ca/product/dodge-ram-non-projector-headlight-dust-covers-33401c/

Going to try HIDs in my 2010 reflectors, but if they don't work out I'm not trashing the OE covers.
Bought a set of 55W Canbus-safe slim HYB ballasts and a pair of XtremeVision 5000K H11s.

Just wondering if I should've gone with 6000s with the 55W ballasts but this is my first dip in the pool.

Depends on if you want a more white or yellow color. Generally with hid's the color temp of the bulb is what it'll be with a 35w Ballast. You can lose around 500k of color temp when going to a 55w ballast.

Verify that the settings took in your log. Try using each signal for 20 seconds then the 4 ways. This can "force" learn the led's. Then check your voltage for the front left/right corner

So they'll wind up around 4500K? And most OEMs are 4300K so they should still look white, not yellow.
Am I right with this? The YT vids can get confusing.
