My Innova multimeter is great, so when I spotted a lightly used 7111 on eBay for under 200$, I bid on it and got it.

They any good?

I had the same question. So, I contacted the company direct on their web site. Dodge FCA is the problem, they charge about 150.oo annually to access their main frame. But ... some claim 7111 is able to access some areas.
I contacted INNova and waiting for their response. Other gasoline scan tools explisitly state NO for cummins. Well, at least you did not pay full price...I hope.

That post was in October 2024.

I've had the Innova 7111 and an AutoAuth account for well over a year now.

You only need a FCA AutoAuth account on 2018 and newer vehicles equipped with the secure gateway module. You can get around this by getting a bypass cable, if you don't want to bother with the AutoAuth subscription.

Anything 2017 and older doesn't have the secure gateway module and can be accessed without a FCA AutoAuth account.

If you get an AutoAuth acct, you can use up to 5 scan tools with the account. The account is 55.00 annually, though it's going up to 65$ pretty soon (maybe already has):

I have an AutoAuth account, and have both my Innova 7111 and my ThinkScan 689BT registered for use.

I use the ThinkScan more often than the Innova though. The ThinkScan 689BT connects to my TPMS sensor programmer, oscilloscope, borescope and battery tester. I can use all of those accessories directly with the scan tool.

Some info on it around the tail end of this thread.
