Hey guys, looking at these hoods/air intake. Looks pretty impressive, only question I have is if there is a water separator/removal idea in the intake design. I don't want water getting into my engine! So I called APM and the designer guy was at lunch so I'm waiting for a call back. But in the mean time, check out these pics!

How would it not work well? When not moving, it's pulling cool air from outside the engine even more so thatn the stock system does. And when the trucks moving, it's definately getting more cool air.

*And, if you ever wanted to go with a supercharger, it would throw that air right on top of where the supercharger intake would be.

I have a little meter that shows the intake temp, and yeah that will probably help a lot when not moving, but when moving, my intake temps are always about 5 deg hotter than ambient temp with the stock intake and drop in K$N. Just my opinions on CAI in general, if its not forcing more air in, its not helping that much. If I were to buy a hood, it wouldnt be based on that, just me.

I understand that, but your stock intake desing pulls some air from the fender well, but the rest it still gets from the engine compartment, which is hot.

This intake pulls air "only" from outside the engine compartment. There isn't any holes, or channels that would allow intake air to come from the engine compartment. And at speeds over 8 mph, it "would" be forcing outside air in.

I don't know. My Venom helped my engine/performance alot, and this one looks alot like the venom, and seems like it's designed better is all.

Just got a call back from "Sonny" at APM. He said they guarantee 110% that no water will ever get in your intake, whether from water/rain/snow. He said they're multiple baffles built in to keep the air flowing into the intake, but diverts the water to drain into the engine compartment.

Pretty *******! I know what I'm doing with my reenlistment bonus!!! :********:

Lol pretty much the same as my old one.

$850 for the hood unpainted.
$250 for the intake.
$300+ for a body shop to paint and fit.
Think for my reenlistment bonus I'll do this hood, lowering kit, and whatever's left I'll find something for.

Thanks man! I just can't wait to join the LCC again!

Man I can't wait to remove those side tube steps! Anyone wanna buy them? They've only been stepped on maybe 5-6 times, and have like 62 miles on them lol

The chally hood would be aluminum and weigh half as much as the fiberglass hood. You could be the first one to make the hood functional.
