Basically [emoji90] As with most additives, very hard to prove benefits over not using the product.

The claim that using it for years with no ill effects does not prove any positive benefit-only that nothing bad happened.

But as with most things, if it gives peace of mind, then may be worth it.

There's lots of documentation validating that AR9100 works as advertised. It absolutely prevents and cures/stops stiction in Ford 7.3 and 6.0 diesels.

Not sure it's necessary for Ecodiesels. I use it as preventative maintenance. Anything to help those lower bearings is "gold" for me. It definitely will not harm an engine

Barney is correct saying, "with most additives, very hard to prove benefits over not using the product." The real proof is if you had a problem, did the additive help or fix it. If you're using it for preventative maintenance, you'll never know either way.

Today's fuel & oil additives are very sophisticated, nothing like the days of Slick 50 and no longer "********" or snake oil.

Barney is also very correct when he says, "But as with most things, if it gives peace of mind, then may be worth it."

It's just Borax in suspension with a bunch of esters and some paraffin. When properly suspended in a base oil Boric acid nano particles do work as a solid lubricant in high pressure areas.

Boron is often used in oils as a detergent and can be part of an AW chemical strategy so it's not much of a surprise to see it being used here, but damn the price is steep.

I could see how it would help with the sticktion issue on the Ford's as it is a cleaning agent, but IMO that issue is caused by maintenance deficiencies. Either the OCI is too long or the Oil choice was poor for the desired OCI. Once the issue is resolved it's then time to go to a more robust oil or more frequent changes... or both.

Thanks for this.
Currently I win. 5k miles on full synthetic before I change oil (yeah I know, overkill)
On my next oil change I'm going to install a bypass filter . So well see what happen

I used it in my 2005 F350 Powerstroke. It definitely works as advertised. Around 180,000 miles I developed stiction due to the oil fired fuel injectors and the crud that builds up in the spoolers. I sold the truck with 267000 miles in February of 2018 when I bought my Ram 3500. I still had the original fuel injectors, so the Archoil saved me the cost of replacing the injectors.

I don’t have to worry about that or other diesel issues because I have the 6.4 Hemi. Love that motor!

Any brand name motor oil needs to meet the API specifications in testing to use its seal. Motor oil improved a great deal in 2016 to work with the new engines. No need to add anything to what comes out of the jug.

With diesel engines a cetane booster helps the engine as does choosing a motor oil with a good additive mix (Amsoil by the way has one of the very worst).
