Do any car/audio/smart people have any idea what’s going on with my truck? If I haven’t driven in a while, or if the truck sits for a couple hours, then every audio feature works fine. But if I run in somewhere or go to a restaurant or start the truck after a short period of time, or if I pause or skip songs “too much” or if the music stops because of incoming texts or navigation directions, it’ll start making the static noise you hear in the video. I know it’s not the speakers, since the radio works fine. And I know it’s not my phone, since it’s the same one I used in my Jeep and never had an issue there. I’ve used both available usb ports (no issues with the aux jack), 3 different usb cables, and the one cable I have now is a brand new Apple usb cable that came with my phone, unused and unopened until I got the truck. I was waiting for Apple to send an iOS update (which they did last week) hoping that would fix the problem. But as you can see, it did not. I’ve been talking with the dealership. But surprise surprise, they’re skeptical that it’s a truck issue. So aside from spending a day at the dealership showing them in person and arguing, anyone got an idea as to what could be going on? Thanks!

Can you make it happen with another Apple device? You just might have to let the dealer handle that one.

Hi Eric,

If you do decide to take your Ram into the dealership, let us know. We're available via direct message and would be glad to get this escalated for further handling.

Thank you! I’ll probably try to schedule something next week or at least see if I can bring it in to someone and show them what’s going on.

Just an update for anyone reading this: Took the truck to the dealership (which was an ordeal in and of itself) and they reset the radio software which did...exactly nothing. At that point they told me Chrysler was aware of the issue, and that they had put a hold on parts to replace the radios because they were sending out a software patch to fix the issue. That update was supposed to go out the end of May, but it was pushed back for some reason. It has still yet to come out and my stereo is still having the same issues.

Hello Eric,

I just followed up with you via direct message but wanted to touch base here. I just escalated your case to a Case Specialist for further handling. Look forward to a phone call soon.

Thought I’d share the newest video publically as well. I made this just tonight in response to the private message about how to properly connect my phone via Bluetooth. After following Mopar’s instructions, the audio was immediately popping and clipping. As you can see in the video, the audio issues completely disappear when I use the radio, and immediately return when using Bluetooth. Still haven’t received that phone call either...
