How do i know what trans is in my 3500 it's a 98 5.9 cummins engine code d automatic are there stamped numbers on the case and if so where are they located just so i know what type it is thanks.

^ yup.

All 2500 and 3500 Rams WITH EITHER THE 5.9L D or the 8.3L V10 automatics got the 47RE. Sadly, most of the HD trucks with the 5.9L G got the 46 RE.

Thanks fellas lookin at dropping the 3500 and need to get a stright trans crossmember but needed to know what trans, i'll look at the numbers, thanks again.
