I found this on a Facebook page and I felt the need to share:

Maybe this will be helpful to someone else. I have a 2018 2500. Recently, the " auto up" function stopped working on the driver side window. It was due for oil change so I had dealership check the switch. They said it only required that the computer be recalibrated. Charged $20. Sounded cheap enough. ....when I got back in the truck, it didn't work. Went back in and told them so they came out to check it. Recalibrating the switch consists only holding the switch in the down position for about 5 seconds, then in the up position for 5 seconds. 1f621.png $20 for 20 seconds.

Done this at least a dozen times on my 2016. Contrary to everything I read on the internet, it can be done with engine running or not. I have even done it while driving.

It might take 2 or 3 down/hold, up/hold cycles but it does work.

My Chrysler 300 suffers from that same idiosyncrasy.

Better than my dealer.

Went in to calibrate for bigger tires. $99, i said ok. Rep came out to apologize that couldn't do it and then told me that they crushed my driver door when it was in the rack. Then tried to charge me anyway.

I have a local garage that says they can get into the BMC and adjust for my slightly taller tires and turn my Fog lights into daytime running lights... and cheaper than the dealer, who said he can NOT activate DRL.

You can easily do all of that plus enable the DRL's yourself with the Alfa Tool.

I have thought about that, but I would have to buy all of he things required, which would put me at about $200, and the garage is telling me maybe $100 to do it for me.

I guess if you didn't have an Android device it could cost around $200 if you had to buy an android tablet but in most cases the tool more than pays for itself when you figure out all the other codes you can enable and disable plus run diagnostics. It will most likely do much more than the tool your garage uses depending on what they have. The amount of time it will take them to enable the code is about 10 minutes max start to finish so by charging you $100 they definitely aren't cutting you any breaks. Also something you are going to want to remember is anytime the dealer updates your trucks BCM for any reason it will disable any codes you or your garage enable and revert your BCM back to the factory configuration. They will need to be enabled again. Which way you decide to go is totally up to you.

Maybe I'm wrong but for the app ($50), security By-Pass (app $50) and a new OBDLink MX+ ($99.95) is what I am looking at since I have an Android Tablet, plus a WHOLE LOT OF READING UP ON how to do the changes without screwing something up. believe me I have thought long about the purchase but this would be something totally new to me and I have cold feet.
There is a guy within 100 miles of me that does this on the side but do I want to trust somebody possibly screwing something up?
Plus he doesn't have the security by-pass module.
I have read thru the first 30 pages of the thread but its only the beginning and I haven't been able to get the courage to spend the money to try it.
I am thinking if I found someone who really knew his stuff and was willing to help me step by step I would send them a few bucks via Pay Pal for guidance.
Would you be interested?

My 2018 Express has no auto up, never did. I did the "fix" of holding the buttons both up and down for 5 seconds about a half a dozen times. All it has is auto down just like it always did. Am I missing something? Does something need to be set with Alfa? Never had it so I don't miss it but if I can get it I'll take it!

Are you sure? My old '14 Express and my '19 Express both have it. I thought it was standard with power windows. Your build sheet would list it as " power front windows 1 touch up/down"

Is the "build sheet" the same thing as the window sticker? I see the "1 touch up and down feature" list on my window sticker.

Nope mine doesn't have it. Both the build sheet and the window sticker list it as

"Pwr Windows, Front 1-Touch Down"

Maybe it's a RC thing. Anyone know if I can change a setting with Alfa?

Well, you got me thinking about this again, and late last night I bit the bullet and places orders for by-pass harness, OBDLink MX+ and down-loaded the app.
Looks like I have a lot of reading to do.

The tool works well and is easy to use. You really didn't need the OBD Link MX+ unless you have Apple devices and plan on using other programs besides the Alfa tool. The standard OBD Link MX would work the same. There are several videos on YouTube that you can watch that show how the tool works and how to use it. I also recommend reading as much as the Alfa thread as you can to familiarize yourself with what it can do. I do have several people that have me enable the codes on their trucks because they aren't comfortable doing it but it's really not difficult to do yourself. They live in the area so it's convenient for them. You can simulate using the tool without even having it connected to your truck. I recommend going through the steps to enable codes and learning how it works before you try to make any actual changes. A few things to remember with this tool. Download your trucks BCM configuration Before you make any changes. This way you will have it in case you change something by mistake. Never change anything unless you are 100% sure you know what it is. If you have any questions at all post them in the Alfa thread and be clear and concise when asking your question and enter your trucks info as well like year and cab configuration. The first post in the Alfa thread has a list with most of the ( Known Working Codes) that you can study. I usually have people enable something easy at first just to get them used to the tool and go from there. This is a powerful tool and you can definitely mess up your truck if you change something that you aren't supposed too but it's just a matter of common sense. If you aren't sure don't do it and ask your question on the Alfa thread. The last thing to remember is let's say you did somehow manage to change a setting in your BCM and you couldn't figure out what you did which is very unlikely. You can simply have the dealer flash your truck and it will put everything back to your original configuration. We used to use a tool called the AE tool because we had no choice. It corrupted my BCM twice. I had a friend who worked at a Dodge dealership flash the truck to revert the truck back to its factory settings and started over. There are hundreds of guys/gals using this tool with no issues. It's just a matter of asking questions and doing your homework before you make changes. The tool is amazing. The changes it can make and the options you can add are pretty much unlimited. It's just a matter of how far you want to take your truck and how much you want to spend adding options.

It's definitely because your truck is a Regular Cab. For some reason they only have the one touch down feature. I think I've seen people say that they tried to enable the one touch up with no success but I'm not positive. I think that the switch itself isn't compatible. I wonder if you could plug in a Master Switch out of a 4 door truck and see if it would work then just out of curiosity? Not even sure if the connector would be the same but it would be interesting to see what might happen.
