Automatic door locks

On my 2016 1500 Sport my automatic door locks randomly stop working. This would be for the fob and the switches on the door. When I press the lock or unlock on the fob the lights will flash indicating that the truck received the signal but nothing. Any ideas what I should look for?

Are you saying the lock and unlock features function correctly sometimes and not others, while using the FOBs or door lock buttons?

Is there any change if the truck is running versus shut off?

If locking or unlocking intermittently fails while using both FOBs or door locks, I would be load testing the battery with a toaster-style battery load tester like this $18 unit from HarbourFreight.


My '21 has the auto door lock option in the Uconnect radio settings but, that's not the same as using the FOB or door buttons. AFAIK, both of those operations are considered a manual locking action.

the battery is two months old and I had it tested at Autozone.
One thing I did notice is that when I use the remote start the locks do not work but when I don't use it they do work. So for the past two days I did not use remote start. The locks work good.
So I tried starting my truck with just the key. The locks stopped working. I'm thinking it has something to do with the engine running. Not sure what to look for.

Update
Not sure why but it looks like my whole issue with my automatic door locks was because my backup camera went bad.
I noticed the guidelines disappeared then the camera's picture scrambled. I installed a new camera and the door locks started working like normal.
Go figure.
