Hey guys,

I tried searching and asking this question to a couple of people on this forum and didn't get a reply - so I'm asking in a new thread.

I have a 2017 Ram 1500 Limited with factory projectors and I just got Auxito LED headlight bulbs. I called 4 different places to install them and they each said no. Their reasoning is because the LED bulbs get hot and because the Ram has a sealed housing they will get too hot and I will be replacing bulbs every year. The bulbs I got have a fan on the backside but with the housing being sealed there is no airflow. To the guys that have used aftermarket LED bulbs - do they get hot and are you having trouble with them? Here are the ones that I bought. I got the Lows/Highs and Fogs. Thanks for any help.

They're fine, probably the guys you asked didn't want the bother of installation which requires removing the front grille (4 10mm bolts)
As long as they have fans & fit under the covers they'll work.
LEDs generate less heat than halogens btw.

Really - they were acting like LED would be messing up every other week because of the heat. The first place I took I tried actually had the grill off and one headlight out then decided that the bulb wouldn’t work. I’ll just do it myself - it can’t be that hard lol

I have the Auxito's in my high and low beam with factory projector lens and have had no problems. You can hear the fan running, but otherwise no issues at all. However, the Auxito would not light up for fogs and I ended up buying BeamTech bulbs and really like them.

Thanks for the answer. You can hear the fans while you’re driving or just when you’re outside of the truck?

Remove the plastic piece covering the grille top.
Remove the four 10mm bolts at the top of the grille, then it just pops off.
Inside the wheelwell there's a trap door that you pop open (don't lose the push-pin!), reach up inside and there's a white square retainer that you push up to free the back of the housing.
Remove the two 10mm bolts holding the front of the housing and pull it out.
Installing is the reverse (pull down the white retainer to lock the housing in place)

I just hear them when I'm outside the truck, or when I'm sitting inside and it's not running (and they are on). It's not overly annoying, but more like a vibration -ish sound maybe? Does that make sense? Again, please note that I "do" like the lights and would buy them again. I did have concerns about the heat since they were enclosed but haven't had any issues so far.

No need to remove the grill, just use an extension to take out that 3rd not on each side.

Awesome - thanks guys - you rock!! I got them switched out in about 40 minutes for both sides. I'll tackle the fog lights in the morning. Again, thanks for all the input and advice.

That's good to hear. How do you like them so far?

Yep, me too! Love and recommend them. The BeamTech's (fogs) are also good and haven't had a single blink - that I can tell anyway - from them.

My truck is a 2017 and I noticed that my headlights/fog lights don't come on when I turn the wipers on. I checked the setting in the radio and they are supposed to come on. The other weird thing is that if I turn my wipers on to the fastest setting the lights come on and then stay on when I go back to the low setting. Have you had any issues like that?

My auto lights don't come on until I click the next setting on the wipers. I'm guessing the lower current draw of LEDs messes with the interface.
Not an issue for me.

Honestly, I've never even thought to look. I have the rain-sensing wipers and have the DRLs enabled but will have to look the next time it's rainy and see if the lights come on.

Do you have the BeamTech part number handy?
