Help! Did I buy a lemon? I have a 2021 Ram with only 29,000 miles. I have already had to have the EV battery replaced at 10,000 miles. That was thankfully covered under my Mopar Warranty. Now, my back window is leaking and my dash has bubbles. This is insane! I called my extended warranty to hear it is not covered. I saw on online bulletin from Mopar dated 2023 stating the windows were a known problem and warranty would be extended to 8 years. How can I get this fixed? And my dash? I would assume it is because of moisture in the car becasue of the leak? This truck is babied, hardly driven and well taken care of. I have read online these are both known problems, but my dealership wants over $2700 in the dash repair alone, not including the window. I would appreciate any help.

You should take your vehicle to a Ram dealer for the rear window fix. There have been some posts regarding the window repair on this forum.

I did, and they said it was not covered. It was only today when I found the online extended window warranty from Stellantis. I hope they will also take care of the dash. Seems like both are ongoing issues with these trucks.

They're not necessarily "on-going", but were an issue for a couple of years. Getting Ram to cover the dash has been really hit or miss. Some report success and many report that they've had to get it fixed out of pocket.

I had a small rear window leak in one corner on my 23. I didn’t want to mess with the dealer and tried flowable Permatex silicone sealer. Apparently I didn’t get enough in and it wasn’t very flowable. I found a package of compressible rubber weather seal at Lowe’s. It’s a double rib seal but I split it and it was a good fit to work down behind the glass with a popcycle stick. So far it has worked well.

Didn’t realize the photo was this poor until posting.

Here are some of the ones on my 2019: You would need to research and see if applicable to yer 2021.

It most certainly is covered with the extension. I have a '21 Bighorn that developed the leaking rear window. My dealer acknowledged the problem as it had water under the rear carpet and was fogging up the inside of the windows when it got hot. They couldn't isolate exactly where it was coming in, so they paid a 3rd party that "specialized" in finding leaks to figure it out. Ended up with a new rear window, new 3rd brake light, and replacing the rear carpet set because of mildew/smell. That was back in the spring with zero issues since. I had a spare vehicle, actually the truck's the spare, so I just left it with them until it was done. Mine probably had about 30,000 on it at the time. Admittedly I have an excellent dealer who tries hard in my experience.

Not all dealers are the same , it may be a pain but keep trying different dealers . Maybe a member has a suggestion for one close to you .

My dealership ordered the window backlite set and had delivered to dealership. Dealership contracted with 3rd party and they came here and replaced the rear window assembly in my driveway.

I've been through this. You have a sunroof leak, and it ain't covered. My dealer, Koons in Virginia, charged me $400. When I tried to use a 20% off service coupon, I was told that the one itinerant water intrusion specialist for their massive chain of dealerships, was a contractor, not an employee, so no discount. My problem was fixed though after several false starts and replacing that stupid $13 3rd brake light "under warranty". BTW, I detest sunroofs and only got one for the resale value. I never opened it. Not only are they a liability, they make the interior 20 degrees hotter with their micro-thin BLACK for god's sake, colored curtain. I stuffed bubble wrap insulation into mine and now I'm able to keep the car down to 80 when it's 70 outside.
