After $2200 damage to my truck, it's time for a backup camera! Dont ask.
My Barcam221 is on it's way along with the Pioneer AVH-X2700BS stereo. Has anyone powered the camera from the backup light, or backup lead in trailer harness? Seems unnecessary to run power from up front. Will the camera power up quick enough?

You can power it from the reverse light. It's a quick and easy install

Mines wired to my reverse light
I checked the amperage draw when I installed it and it's pretty low, less then an amp if I remember right. It only pulling power for the signal
My dads is wired to +12v off the trailer wiring and his flickers to, it's something with the camera not the power source
