I've had a clicking noise since I rebuilt the engine. I didn't go with a Mopar timing chain kit and I paid the price.
2002 Dodge 4.7. I notice that the chain guide isn't moving with the chain. The tensioner holds the pressure but the chain get's slack and slaps back onto the guide, causing my clicking noise.
Should I manually expand out the tensioner or just buy a new kit from mopar and go that route?
I'll post a vid, you have to click on it twice to hear the sound i believe. It's the drivers side timing chain. The constant slapping ended up braking off my plastic chain guide, which you can see missing in the video
