I just bought a blacked out 2500 with 20's and am trying to find out what ball mount i should buy for it. I usually only tow my travel trailer and have a hitch for that. I would like to have a general purpose ball for the occasional jon boat ot utility trailer but am unsure of what drop to get. Would 6" drop be a good general use ball?

5" or 6" drop is just about perfect to keep a trailer level

I grabbed a 6" adjustable hitch off of Amazon from Inventive Hitches. Fully adjustable 6" up or down (come in larger sizes too). Rated to 10k lbs. Costs like $90... Best hitch I've ever owned!

I think it's called Workman XD or something...

I have two very nice cast aluminum ones for our horse trailer but with the 295s on 20s I needed to go with 10+" drop to keep the trailer level, with horses we are **** about being level so they don't rest against the butt bar......

Pay for quality ($200-300).
