Got the new fuel pump in today, all went well, and while looking things over.......I need ball joints now too.

Cheapest ones on rockauto are $3 (lol) but the "extreme duty" stuff from Carli and what not are like $900 for a set. Looks like the AC Delco Gold are the OEM for $32 each, and at that price point I would be willing to pay a bit more for upgraded versions. That said, I'm not paying $900 for a set, but some of the more reasonably prices ones look to have just as many people having issues with them as actual good reviews.

It'll be 3 weeks before I have time to do them anyway, figured I would see if you guys had any input while I wait to order them.

Quality really depends on what size tire and how you use the truck. Standard Moog replacements will last a long time in a truck with stock size tires that never sees rough roads, but if you do country stuff, tow heavy, drive rough roads or have big tires, or all of the above, you need something better.

For years I have been using the Napa "chassis parts" balljoints. They are gold zinc plated and come with heavy duty blue nitrile boot. I do drive rough roads while towing heavy and I do have big tires, and these balljoints last me about 20k miles before they need replacement, or more accurately, before they get clunky. I hate the clunks so I replace them as soon as they get noisy. BTW - did you know the spec for play in a gen 3 Dodge lower balljoint is 1/8"? That's insane...

Recently, I noticed Synergy selling rebuildable balljoints for about half the price of Carli, and my truck needs joints again, so I am going to give these a try. They are rebuildable and adjustable and are eerily similar to Carli.

So every 5th oil change you're looking to swap out balljoints?

Are the Napas greasable? Looking to do mine and am leaning towards the Mevotech TTX from RockAuto ($50). Same usage requirements.

Yeah, the big tires and rough roads kill balljoints. I've considered swapping in a DUper Duty front axle with radius arms, but the wheel bolt pattern is different and I'd have to drill the brake rotors every time I did brakes.

Yes, the Napa joints have grease, but the lower Dodge joints are simply a bad design.

Upon further research I've come to the conclusion that the Napa chassis parts ball joints with the blue boot are actually rebranded MEVOTECH SUPREME line parts (not the TTX) and are more expensive than RockAuto. If you need them immediately it is what it is. Just a heads up.
