so who else out there managed to rip their lower balljoint boots when lowering their truck?

napa didnt have any part number listed for a lower balljoint, so i called the dealer. they dont have a separate replacement part for a balljoint. sells as one unit with whole control arm.

anyone find balljoints for these trucks? im going on a road trip soon and i already have a decent amount of miles on these. they just rivet in from the factory, i dont see why there isnt a replacement bolt in one.

Double check but Moog Problem Solver: K7467 Lower Ball Joint, or K7465 may work--the listing wasn't really clear and it may be only for 2500 and 3500, or Tradesman HD. I know the K7465 fits the 2012.

Luck!

Those look to be upper ball joints.

My truck has 42k, about 5k since ripping ball joint boots. They're OK now but I can't see them lasting too long.

Those are listed on the Moog site as lower ball and control arm.

those are listed as being for 4wd. sorry it looks like I forgot to mention I am 2wd

I called up the dealer and found some things interesting.

02-12 shares the same spindle.
there is no replacable lower balljoint for 09+ listed.
however, it shows 06-12 using the same lower control arm part number.
02-08 use the same lower balljoint.

Im going to pick up a set of lower balljoints for a 06-08ish 1500 ram and see if they fit.

I posted that in your other thread you mentioned about ball joints.

I think some of the 3rd gen stuff in interchangeable, but what confused me on rockauto was the compatibly chart said. 07-08, 09-11 2500 and 2012 1500... lol

Makes no sense..

On my 06 ram, only the lowers are replaceable. for the uppers you have to buy an entire upper swing arm that has the ball joint built into it. I hope dodge didn't **** you new generations over by making both solid in the swing arms...
