For me personally, I had always been a superchips user. Then when diablo released their tuner for the ram I wanted to try it. After trying it I realized that I was not willing to give up trans control which was bc diablo doesn't support the trans in 04 rams. So I went back to superchips and have been happy ever since.

I hear you on the tranny stuff man. I don't think that most people understand that the tranny tuning is the KEY to normal driving. Whats the difference in any canned tune, maybe 5-10 hp? You gonna feel that when you are granny footin' it through town? Nope. Change up that tranny and where it shifts, you'll love it.

The reason I switched from the Superchips to the Diablo Predator was because the Superchips programer, while very nice, couldn't do some of the things I wanted it to do as it cant really tune the big ticket items (bigger cam, heads) that I wanted to put on. Yes there are some cams that will run on the superchips but not the one I wanted the one I have needs to have a custom tune written to run it so since the superchips couldn't do it I went with Diablo. If superchips ever does custom tuning though I will swap back.

For your truck I would go with the superchips as you are more than likely not going to pull the engine apart or do anything that would require a custom tune to make it run right.
