Batt. size for "99" Ram 1500

Bought a batt. at Interstate for my "99" Ram1500, got home & it wouldn't fit in the batt tray, appx. 3/4" too long. I Called Interstate & they advised there were 2 different batt. used in those trucks. Drove back over there & they gave me another that was appx. 3/4" shorter than the one they had given me first time. Is this true? or did they just tell me that because the gave me the wrong batt for a "99" Ram 1500? Did Dodge really use 2 different size batt. in these trucks?

My 97 1500 came with the “smaller” battery offered and I swapped it up to the “larger” battery offered.

Factory group size should be a Group 27. Group 24 also works but is smaller.
