Heat kills batteries fast,and shiny aluminium shielding reflects heat
Yeah, but it also conducts electricity quite well. Being so close to exposed terminals just invites problems IMHO.

I would guess that covering the aluminum with something like gorilla tape near the connections could improve your odds of not shorting it out.

Put in a H8 and don't worry about that usless blanket ;)

Instead put in a noco onboard battery tender.

Think you're quoting the wrong guy,i was only telling him why. I think you should of quoted Stenerson's post #35,but then again Crash pretty well covered it in post #36 ;)
