Dumb ? but have to ask LOL

Yes I tried search and Google ! Found a blanket that plugs in but not the non plug in !
2015 RAM 1500 Battery Insulating Blanket !
I am getting ready to change the battery as it is OEM
The battery blanket was chewed on by Micky Mouse !
Anyone have the part number ?
Was it 4 sides only like it is now ?
Did it also have insulation on top as well ?
Not sure how mu Micky Mouse ate lol

Thank You

I believe this is the one specified to fit your truck.

But, I think the version for the 2009-2013 is better quality. Its sewn and insulated fabric instead of that weird pressed fiber stuff on the later ones. Of course, I can't verify for certain that it'll fit, but I very much doubt that there would be a difference.

I will say this, I have 2 ram trucks. One has the old style that has a top and the other the new style with no top. The one with the top is a lot better than the one without the top.

I was looking them up earlier and keep seeing the older version pn# with pics of the newer style cover and vise versa.

I suspect that regardless of which part# is ordered, what arrives will be luck of the draw.

Any auto wreckers in your area? You could look for a good used one.
i could send you a pic of my 2014 one, but too late tonight, or just post the picture here.
It has the top cover I am sure, heavy felt

"Heavy felt"
This sounds exactly like mine, 2014 Laramie.

14's got the later "felt" style cover, most of them had a top cover, the 13's and earlier got the better quality "sewn" version. My 13 had the good sewn battery blanket, and my 14 had the later felt version, which i personally thought was a step backwards

The battery blanket for the gassers is different from the EcoDiesel. EcoDiesels came with a H8 battery from the factory, the gassers are H7 size.

I switched over to a larger H8 battery and need to find one that fits. I've heard battery longevity hurt more from hot weather than the cold.

You've heard correct about heat hasting the decline of an automotive battery life.
I can tell you that a 2015 EcoDiesel has an H8 battery blanket from the factory, the heavy felt type one.Odyssey_49-950_EcoDiesel_.jpg
Did a little Googling, it appears that 5033397AE should be the correct part number for an H8 battery heat shield. Found the answer on a different forum from someone who also upgraded to a H8 battery.

Don't suppose this is of much help, but mine was a little boogered up on top and I just applied 100 MPH duct tape to it. For you non-redneks, EG: black. Seems to stick better and looks not too bad.

As for batteries going bad in hot weather, it's definitely a thing, but the big reason is the warmer the battery gets, the more it gasses and that gassing is your electrolyte disappearing. Most batteries, actually ALL batteries can be opened. Most without breaking anything. It's good to know how to get the top off so you can actually check the level and add water as needed. Even those that are more or less sealed have the old fashioned rings in them which the electroyte level should come up to. I managed a battery warehouse in the south in a former life and we saw this over and over again.

Reminds me of the oil is good for the life of the transmission B.S. ( ie till it's off warranty or you trade it )
BTW being a old guy , 100mph tape should be OK these days,
but when I was young I never had anything I dared drive close to 100. My 47 toped out at 75

Since you live in Maine, maybe consider one of those heater type. 120V. Probably overkill.... but something to consider maybe if you park outside. I've personally never needed one though. Rams have a pretty big battery as it is.

The mice tried chewing mine too and I put some bait near it.. and then they stopped...
