Battery gauge went nuts....

Got in my truck today to go to town in a snowstorm and on the way home I noticed that my battery gauge indicator needle was pegged to the high side continuously.
Anyone know why this might be?

08 ram quad cab, 5,7 Hemi, 4x4 Big Horn. 143,000 mi. Just passed State inspection in Vermont two days ago.

Go to your local chain type auto parts store & request that they check your charging system
It does not cost anything

I've had this problem before. Turned out to be loose battery connection
