My Longhorn is coming up on 5 years....

Choices for a battery replacement are:

Die Hard H7 Platinum AGM 850 CCA/ 1000 CA
or
Optima Yellow Top H7 880 CCA/ 1000 CA

This is what I can get locally. Anything else I should look at. The Optima is expensive....Die Hard is up there but not terrible. Not looking for cheap...just resonable.

They're manufactured in Missouri, highly recommend battery.
The 49-950 is about the largest capacity H8 battery available. I have one in my EcoDiesel.
Even if you don't go with an Odyssey, at least consider the upsize to an H8 AGM.

Copy that...looks to be the same price as an Optima from what I can see.

I had a bunch of points from my dodge card. Used them to get two (diesel) OEM mopar batteries installed. Still $500 for batteries is crazy expensive. My OE batteries in the Gen4 3500 lasted 7 years, just cranked slower than normal.

At 13.9" long, it would not fit in the tray of my 2023. I think a Group H7 would, by a hair.

Once you pull the battery, there is a plastic piece on the back side of the tray towards the cab. You can put some force on it with your hands and it pops out. Once you pop that out, the entire tray is open and perfectly sized for the larger H8 battery size. If I'm not mistaken, the battery tray is the same for the diesel Cummins as is our trucks and that plastic piece is just there to hold our smaller H7 battery. They are the same price for batteries since the H8 is so widely used. But the extra juice is much nicer to have.

Best deal, longest warranty, easiest Country wide replacement if it fails. No Brainer.

As long as it is more than your OEM battery, does it really matter?

Diehard Platinum and Duralast Platinum are rated 850CCA. Duracell Ultra @ 800. I have a Duralast 850 in there now that is approaching 6 years. All are adequate for starting the truck. My question was just looking for the answer not trying to go down a rabbit hole over CCA's.

I run a Duralast Premium AGM H7 in my 2019, that I replaced in February. You have gotten a lot of good thoughts. They all will be OK. If U can go H8 size, that be good also. My Duralast is 850 CCA. I just did not do the H8, did not want to play with battery box. The Duralast is more $$$ than Wally World. Get what works for U.
