Bed Anchors

Could someone direct me to a bed anchor that mounts to the inside of the beds sidewall (near the tailgate, but above the factory low mounts).

Not seen ne thing like that in a RAM product. Saw on some foreign set ups, and also on military applications and such. All I have seen is the ones that go in the slots top of the bed as anchors. But alas, maybe there is some product out there.

ADDED: I sure as heck cannot imagine ne one drilling holes in the side of the bed as a anchor point. The beds sides are so thin ne way, not hold much, IMHO rip/pull out.

OK, Just saw this on a 2021 RAM Bighorn with MFT. Video shows side anchors with a rail. Unknown if it is specific to the MFT bed, but worth a preview ne way.

Those bed rails are the factory bed rails;

They work good I have them on my 19,
i have looked a couple of times for extra tie down points for them but haven't found them,
so for now the factory 4 have to do.

Had an idea this morning.....remembered I have 2 leftover brackets from my running boards that might allow for mounting a D-ring at roughly the midpoint of the bed. If I get some time this week, I'll give it a try and post some pics.

Here's a quick attempt....probably need a larger top washer to cover that entire factory hole.

There is access from the bottom to put backing to spread the load in several places.

Exactly what I did here.....just a flat bar with a couple nuts welded to it. Definitely not intended to hold the heaviest loads, rather, tools or buckets that I'd like to keep snug against the tailgate.

I have the Bed Rail as a tie down point as needed, BUT have added the EXTANG Cleats. You can change their location as needed !

I saw this idea awhile back and have not completely given up on adding this to my Ram

2” Angle iron, 1/2“ round stock, this would be simple to weld up yourself or Id think pretty cheap to have made by a local welder

@LouM I have these rails as well. I was lucky enough to find three more tie down brackets in a pick n’ pull junkyard.

Before I found those I was experimenting using tee nuts that are used on a mill or drill press table. If you’d like a couple of pics, let me know I’ve still got these out in the shop
