Hey all, so eventually I'd like to put a windowed cap on the back of my 2017 Express with the short bed. I can't decide on one, nor can I find anything I like for below $1500. I'd like it to be flat, not angled on top. Ability to vent/open side windows would be a plus as id be using it for overnight fishing trips where id be sleeping in the back for a couple hours. It just seems like options for the shirt bed aren't too popular. Recommendations?

I don't have the short bed, I have the middle one. But I have a Leer and love it. It is a slam shut rear window that locks/unlocks with the key fob. I got it new for 2300, so it wasn't an inexpensive option but I got it the way I wanted it.

Thanks! Yeah but it's supposed to be a truck that I own for a very long time. From time to time I sleep back there, and I have photography business so I wanted more security and dryness back there. Most of my previous truck caps were the old aluminum style, and next to those no comparison. Except the weight. It is heavy.

If you don't need a hard cap, softoppers are around $750. I've had mine for close to 3 years and i have zero regrets. I can have a full bed in around 3 minutes it takes to put the topper down, couple of extra minutes to remove it in full, and it doesn't take much space in your garage. About the same time to put it back if you removed it in full. weights about 40lbs. I have an Express with short bed as well.

We enjoy the outdoors a lot so the wife will pack stuff up like we'll be living in the mountains for 1 month when we only go out for a couple of days :). The topper keeps everything dry in the rain or winter, and i can sleep back there if needed as well when i'm on my own.

Look at snugtop.com They're good quality. I had one on my 97 GMC. Color matched and it fit perfect.
