Everything should be plug and play. Then you have to get the dealer to open the sales code in the computer.

Or us the Alpha to do so.
It does not plug and play. under the dash, there is a Plug (C1) that needs to be removed. In slot 5 of the plug, you need to insert the wire if slot 5 is empty. If not you will need to splice into the wire in slot 5. I have a 2017 SLT that need to be spliced. After that, the dealer charged me 50.00 to program the computer. The LED lights are really nice though.

I think that answer was directed towards me, I have a 2018 2500 that has the factory wiring oem. So for us with the 2018 it is plug and play.

@1500ram12 i emailed developer of Alpha, hoping he responds, I don’t anticipate he can do anything but possibly give us an idea if he has plans to add support for 18 and at some point 19

It would be nice if he did change it to include 2018 model year. I'm sure at some point he'll get around to adding what's new in the 2018's. All I want at this point is mileage correction.

I thought we could use the alpha on 18's with the bypass cable?

If he gets around to the 18's I'm wondering if that will include the 19 classics as well.

You can use it on 18 and 19 classic with the bypass cable and it works very well but if you read through this thread, the bed light switch at the tailgate cannot be turned on in Alfa because it wasn’t an option in 2017 (the newest year available in Alfa). So there will be tiny things like this that Alfa cannot do as of now.

As @CincyCuda68 stated it can be used on 18/19 classic but he hasn't updated the app to show 18/19 model year's. Everything you connect to only will show up to 2017 but will still connect and work on 2018/19 classic

I think that is only a 2500 thing. Idon’t thing the 1500 come or-wired. But I could be wrong.

Wanted the factory LED bed lights but not the functionality, could not see a reason to have them come on when unlocking or turn on from inside the cab. Did this instead: https://www.ramforum.com/posts/1712576/

I was thinking of using them and wiring to an aux switch. Can I make one of the aux switches battery power instead if ign using alpha?

Yes you can. If I get a chance I’ll post the settings, once you enable the aux switches in Alfa you have a commercial setting in your evic, you have to set a pin then you can make them bat, ign and Also latching or momentary right in evic. You can also set them individually in Alfa.

Glad to hear that.....I am a few weeks ago from getting them and installing, but at least I know it can be done

No but you probably could wire in some sort of pressure switch (like a refrigerator light switch) to make them come on when the tailgate is down

Yeah I just figured with the locking tailgate the truck had to have some awareness of its position. But then again, I assume it locks whether it’s up or down.

Mine are sitting on a box on a shelf, along with the ATC single zone and a power inverter lol. Weather was good today so Flowmaster exhaust and AFE airbox went in!

Here you go

Custsetmenu Auxilary Switch CSM= enabled (adds it to the EVIC) everything below can be done in the EVIC or Alfa. In the EVIC you will have to set a PIN number before you can get to the settings.

You will have Cust Prog Feat CBC Aux type= momentary or latching
Cust prog feat CBC Aux Power Managed = ign or bat
Cust prog feat CBC Aux HL = enabled/disabled (this is to hold the last power state)
